Patient Instruction for Injections
1. Wash your hands thoroughly, and dry them with a clean towel.
2. Wipe the rubber stopper on the vial of the HCG with an alcohol pad.
3. Handle the syringe by the barrel only. Do not touch the needle with your hands. Do not let the needle touch any surface.
4. Grasp the syringe by the barrel (not the plunger), and remove the needle cover.
5. Push the needle through the center of the vial’s rubber stopper.
6. Turn the vial and needle/syringe upside down with one hand. Keeping the needle tip below the level of fluid, slowly pull back on the syringe plunger to the desired dose (250 IU’s).
7. If there are any air bubbles, gently tap the syringe barrel until they float to the top of the solution.
8. Holding the syringe upright, push the syringe plunger to the correct volume mark for the dose prescribed by your doctor. This will remove any air and excess solution into the vial.
9. Grasp the syringe barrel (not the plunger) and pull the needle/syringe from the vial of the fluid.
10. Once you have injected your medication as directed, properly dispose of the needle with the syringe in a sharps container. DO NOT RECAP THE NEEDLE.
Do Not Use The Solution If It Is Cloudy Or Contains Particles.
Now You Are Ready For Your Injections
You will be injecting 0.25cc (250 units) every day sub–q until gone (there are 40 injections at this dosage in the bottle).
Open an insulin syringe and pull off the orange cap. Stick the needle gently into the rubber stopper and invert bottle so that the liquid covers the needle. Pull the plunger back until the syringe is filled to the #25 on the syringe.
Pinch (special “K” pinch, love handle) your belly, approximately 3 inches left or right of the belly button and inject.
